TERA Architects is the collaboration of design and construction professionals dedicated to the delivery of well designed and constructed projects that meet and exceed the Owner's expectations. TERA Architects embarked upon this goal in the summer of 2004 with the reorganization of the long standing firm of Pearson Engineering, Incorporated.

Pearson Engineering, Incorporated (PEI) was created in 1956 as a design firm to support the design / build capabilities of the Pearson Construction Company, Inc., which had been providing construction services in Southwest Michigan, and the entire Midwest, since 1918. The earliest works consisted of industrial projects, machine and equipment foundations, and foundation design. With the economic changes in Southwest Michigan expanding from a primarily industrial area to an area that includes more "commercial" and "service" oriented businesses, the design services and experiences of Pearson Engineering, Inc. expanded to include religious facilities, corporate office headquarters, and fine dining establishments.

With the generational change in ownership of the family owned business to Burton Pearson II, the addition of architects Tracy Ezell and Arunas Rumsa, and the 2004 passing of one of PEI's founding principals, the focus switched from an engineering discipline to a pure architectural and design discipline, which resulted in the formation of TERA Architects.

TERA Architects firmly believes that good design and quality construction do not have to be prohibitively expensive to provide and deliver, contrary to the stereotype commonly subscribed to. TERA Architects operates by the creed that architecture and quality design are things that all persons should be afforded and that all projects, regardless of size or budget, deserve thoughtful design.

TERA Architects employs a staff with a high level of design and construction expertise in order to meet the ever-growing expectations of our clients. When additional expertise is required, TERA Architects is able to utilize the specialized services of numerous design/construction consultants in order to offer our clients the most cost effective solutions utilizing the most up to date technology available.
